I’m sure most people have by now heard the news that there are molecules in the clouds of Venus that theoretically should not be there in the concentrations it was detected at, leading various groups to speculate that the molecule (phosphine) is being generated by organic life. There of course could be some other explanation, but if we are being completely honest that just isn’t as exciting unless you are the chemist who discovers the process. Therefore, in conclusion:
